A private driver Morocco trip means one driver and one vehicle for your group only, from the first day of your trip to the last. You choose the route, from Marrakech over the High Atlas to the Sahara, on to Fes and Chefchaouen, or along the Atlantic coast, and the pace within the agreed itinerary. Every trip is quoted per route and itinerary, by vehicle, not per person. The driver’s own accommodation and meals are handled within your quote. Your driver handles the road; for guided visits at the sites, you book a licensed local guide.

How a multi-day private driver works
1. Share your dates, start and end city, and must-sees
Send us your travel dates, where you’ll start and finish, the places you want to see, the number of passengers and your luggage. A rough list is enough: “Sahara, Fes and Chefchaouen in eight days” is a good start.
2. We propose a route and a quote
We reply with a route that fits your days and a quote for the whole trip. Your booking is confirmed once we confirm your request, and you then receive your booking and driver details. Payment method, currency, timing and any deposit are confirmed at booking.
3. Your driver collects you
On day one, your driver picks you up at your hotel, riad or arrival point. Arriving by air in Marrakech? Your trip can start with a pickup at Marrakech airport.
4. Change the pace as you go
You can change the pace within the agreed itinerary: stop for photos, linger in a village, or drive straight through. Route changes are possible where agreed with us, so tell your driver or message us, and we’ll confirm what’s possible.
Sample routes with a private driver
These routes are already published on our site, so you can see exactly what each includes. Any of them can be the starting point for your own private driver Morocco itinerary.
| Route | Days | What it covers | Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marrakech to Fes via the Sahara | 3 | One way: the High and Middle Atlas, kasbahs, gorges, a night in the Sahara at Erg Chebbi, then on to Fes | 3-day route |
| Marrakech to Fes desert tour | 4 | One way: Erg Chebbi, the High and Middle Atlas, Meknes, and a full day in the Fes medina | 4-day tour |
| Marrakech to Merzouga | 7 | Two nights in the Merzouga desert area, the Draa Valley kasbahs, the Dades and Todra gorges | 7-day trip |
Marrakech to Fes via the Sahara (3 days)
The shortest of our published desert routes. You cross the High Atlas (the road over the Tizi n’Tichka pass reaches 2,205 m), sleep near the dunes of Erg Chebbi, then continue north through the Middle Atlas to Fes. Read more about getting from Marrakech to the Sahara desert.
Marrakech to Fes desert tour (4 days)
The same one-way direction, with an extra day for Meknes and a full day in the Fes medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Marrakech to Merzouga: 7 days
A slower desert trip, with two nights in the Merzouga area, kasbahs in the Draa Valley and the Dades and Todra gorges. Want to include Ait Benhaddou, the UNESCO-listed ksar beyond the High Atlas? Ask for it when we plan your route.
Ten days: Atlas, Sahara, Fes and Chefchaouen
With ten days you can add Chefchaouen in the Rif mountains (about 200 km and roughly 4 hours beyond Fes by road) and finish on the coast or back in Marrakech. See our 10-day Morocco itinerary or, for a shorter trip, the 7-day Morocco itinerary.
The Atlantic coast: Essaouira and Agadir
For a coast-and-city trip, Essaouira is about 190 km (roughly 2 h 30) from Marrakech and Agadir about 250 km (roughly 3 hours), according to our routes page. Browse our tours from Essaouira and tours from Agadir.

Multi-day driver or point-to-point transfers?
- Point-to-point transfer: one journey from A to B, for example Marrakech to Essaouira, after which you travel on independently. See the destinations on our routes page.
- Multi-day private driver: the same driver and vehicle stay with your trip from start to finish, which suits routes the train doesn’t serve: the High Atlas, the Sahara, the gorges and the kasbahs.
You can also combine both, for example a driver for the desert section and a transfer to the coast. Send us your plan and we’ll suggest the simpler option.
What’s included, and what isn’t
In every quote:
- your private driver for the agreed trip
- the vehicle, for your group only
- pickup at your hotel, riad or agreed starting point
- the driver’s own accommodation and meals, which are handled within your quote; there’s no separate charge for them on the day
- fuel and tolls, included where applicable, as set out in your quote
On our published tours, the price covers the private car and driver service, and you keep full freedom over where you stay, eat and visit. Each tour page lists its inclusions, and the same items are listed as not included: meals and restaurant expenses, entry tickets, local guides at sites (the driver is not a tour guide), travel insurance and gratuity. For a custom route, your quote sets out exactly what’s included.
How much does a private driver in Morocco cost?
There’s no fixed per-day price list. Every trip is quoted per route and itinerary, by vehicle, not per person. The price depends on:
- the itinerary: where you start and finish, and the places in between
- the duration: the number of days
- the vehicle: a saloon, a V-Class or a larger vehicle for groups
- the distance driven
- your service requirements, for example one-way trips or additional transfers
The driver’s return journey on one-way trips is handled within the quotation. Send us your dates and route to request a quote.
Vehicles for long journeys
Our documented fleet is listed on our fleet page with capacities. Every trip is subject to vehicle availability, and the vehicle is confirmed in your quote.
Saloons for couples
The ŠKODA Superb, Mercedes E-Class and Audi A6 are listed for 3 passengers and 4 bags.
V-Class and Sprinter for families and groups
The Mercedes V-Class is listed for 6 passengers and 7 bags, and the Mercedes Sprinter for 16 passengers and 10 bags. Long days are easier with space to stretch out. Families can also read Morocco with kids for tips on pacing.
Toyota LandCruiser and Range Rover
The fleet also includes the Toyota LandCruiser (3 passengers / 4 bags) and the Range Rover (4 passengers / 5 bags). Tell us your route and we’ll confirm which vehicle suits it.
Starting or ending your trip in another city
Trips don’t have to start and finish in Marrakech. Different start and end cities are available where operationally agreed, and one-way trips are available where quoted: for example, Marrakech to Fes via the desert, as in our published routes. We also publish tours that start elsewhere: see tours from Fes, tours from Casablanca and tours from Tangier. Tell us where you land and where you fly home from, and we’ll build the route around it.
Is a private driver in Morocco worth it?
Often yes, if:
- your route includes the High Atlas, the Sahara, the gorges or small villages that buses and trains don’t reach
- you’re travelling as a family or group, since the quote is per vehicle, not per person
- you’d rather not drive mountain passes, navigate city traffic or find parking in old towns
Maybe not, if you’re only travelling between Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat and Fes. The train links those cities, and point-to-point transfers can cover the rest.

Your driver isn’t a tour guide
Our drivers provide transport and chauffeur service: they plan the driving, handle the route and suggest stops along the way. They are not tour guides. Tourist guiding is a regulated profession in Morocco (Law No. 05.12), so for a guided visit to a medina, a kasbah or a monument, book an accredited local guide at that site. Our published tours list local guides at sites as not included, for the same reason.

Route changes are possible where agreed with us, and you can change the pace within the agreed itinerary.
Can we start in Casablanca and finish in Marrakech?
Different start and end cities are available where operationally agreed, and one-way trips are available where quoted. Send us your arrival and departure cities.
